Sri Lanka today commemorates the sixth tsunami anniversary that claimed the lives of more than 30,000 people. On December 26, 2004, a magnitude 9.15 earthquake off the coast of Indonesia's Aceh Province triggered a tsunami in the Indian Ocean.
